why is a 50/50 mix of dextrose and maltodextrin best??

what makes combining the 2so much better than just having one or the other?? I'm thinking of just customizing some from TP and having the 50/50mix
 
Extended release of sugars....I believe dextrose is in and out of you faster than that of malto dextrine. Malto gives you a longer release of simple sugars where a all dextrose would be in and out of you too quick.
 
well I guess it all depends on how you set things up. I have a 2nd PWO meal 1 and a 1/2hr after my PWO shake, so dex is about the best thing for the job in my situation...

hmmm I also do the same. I think I may just by 5lbs of each
 
Buffness hit the nail on the head, as did the other response (forgot screen name). 50/50 is beneficial because you dextrose is a high glycemic simple sugar where malto is a high glycemic complex carb source. You get a nice insulin spike w/ both, but dextrose is in and out FAST where as malto takes a bit of time to get out. Fast/slow release. However, if like buffness you have a PWO shake then eat another meal w/in a half hour, all dextrose is acgtually better. Whatever fits yourschedule! Either way there won't be a major difference. I for one prefer white rice Post WO w/ some malto.
 
I doubt the dextros is still there one and a half hours later. Half an hour sure... I don't think it makes much differnce either way, but since they both cost the same amount I don't see a reason not to use the mix.
