I am trying to give up meat, I love animals too much. I dont eat meat for taste i eat it mainly for protein, is there a healthy way to substitute proteins. I hate shakes.
The only thing i can tihnk of is eggs, and soy protein. Anything else?

Any vegetarian food taht would be 100% protein and no carbs or fat? or trace carbs and fat?

You going vegetarian or just giving up meat, there is a difference, like vegans and vegetarians. I have no clue though, I like meat way too much to ever give it up.

haha i dont know much of the difference. all i know is i love animals way too much to be killing them for food. I am thinking i will still eat eggs, prolly still eat meat every now and then not going hardcore hippie or anything. lol.

well if u give up meat u can get proteins from eggs beans some veggies have low amounts of proteins rice also has some but the problem is they arent complete proteins meaning they dnt have all essential amino acids(9) but if you mix these incomplete proteins you will make a complete one you just have to do a bit of research if thats really what you want to do.....

fish too? if its just meat and continue with fish and eggs thats good, but giving it all up with the life style we lead is tough

good post john :)

God put us on top of the food chain for a reason bro... By eating meat you help reduce over population, so in actuality you are helping animals that you love so much by eating them.....
True bro so grab you a juicy steak. You know you want too...

The staple diet on many hispanic nations is yellow rice, beans, and corn. Many of these people are poor and can't afford to purchase meats on a regular basis.

All meat and/or food products made from animals are considered complete proteins. A complete protein source contains enough of the 9 essential amino acids to allow the body to make the other 13.
Most plant sources lack some essential amino acids, and therein lies the trouble with a vegetarian diet.

Evidently, yellow rice, corn, and beans together contain all the essential amino acids, thereby allowing for complete protein without reliance on meat or a meat byproduct.

Even just beans and corn together combine to produce a more complete protein than that of soy or peanuts.
