Best tasting protein bar, I am looking for something around 200-300 calorie bar and has about 20+ protein better if its from whey..

Honestly i have liked making my own, i get the "better protein bars" from NTBM (i only use a few things from there btw) and add in a bit extra whey and oat meal and they are pretty good. I make 12 each batch and then freeze an extra batch for later on. ends up costing like 1-2$ a bar and it alot better for you then most of the bars at the store.
other then that i only buy one if im out n about and happen to be out of protein. normally i take a shake with me in an empty water bottle..
not a big fan of protein bars, but when i do have em, i usually make em.... just been lazy laity..... I should make another batch.
adding cranberries is also a nice touch.

if you want to do it from scratch im sure there is a bunch of ways how to online, just DONT put extra water... put less if anything and add a drop if you need more. only takes a drop too much to make the bars more like pudding...

I like Pure Protein but make our own because the kids like to eat them for breakfast.

can you guys share some recipes please,, I googled them but i want to go with some tried and tested. dont want to spend on bunch of ingredients and than it comes out as shit

1 16oz jar natural peanut butter
1 Cup dry oatmeal
1/2 cup honey
5-6 scoops chocolate whey

I usually make double and so it isn't too dry add a little more honey and a little less oatmeal. Heat the peanut butter and honey in the microwave for about 90sec so you can mix them together easily. Add in the rest of the stuff and dig your hands in to mix. I spray my hands with a EVOO cooking spray first. Press it out onto a big sheet of wax paper. Let it cool for a while and cut into squares. Store in the refrigerator.

I use the wax paper to put between layers in a rectangular tuperware container so they don't stick together.

You can mix in nuts or dried fruit if you want.

tried pure protein. Its damn good.
Have you guys tried microwaving it? OH my god its soooo swesome like a candy bar

True Proteins stuff is all really good but anymore I make my own.. Here lately I've been hooked on Dave Palumbos recipe on making Oatmeal raisin protein cookies.. Hells Bells these things are better than a good piece of ass! Well almost..lol

I just made this recipe and it is in the fridge cooling. Tatses great! I did have to add about 8 TBSP olive oil and alittle extra honey to get it to moisten up so I could mix it and roll it. Thats about 1000 cals added which my scrawney ass can use anyway.

I figured out the cals for the mass that's cooling inside the fridge, and I made 1.5 X the above recipe:

Protein Cals = 1664 or 20%
Carb Cals = 2140 or 26%
Fat cals = 4576 or 55%

If I cut this into 16 bars, I get about 523 cals per bar.

^^^I figured up the nutrition one time for a single batch. I think I used whey concentrate instead of the isolate I use now.

3,875 Cal
226g Fat
239g Protein
290g Carbs
37g Fiber

Your fat is higher Darkness but I assume you figured in the extra olive oil.

I grab the pure protein at Kroger's for my daughter instead of letting her have candy. I never eat them any more. I've tried the Detour and U-turn bars...extremely good flavor but too much sugar. The homemade recipe shown above was introduced over at BB.com back around 2002 by Wardog and actually marketed as "Sheesh Bars" for a couple of years. I make them occasionally and add walnuts etc. Sarah eats most of them...I'm lucky I get one or two. ;)

But...a commercial bar... for a combination of flavor and actual protein content I've always liked the Labrada low carb lean body bars the best. Their texas pecan pie is the best bar I ever ate.

VPX Impact peanut butter and jelly
VPX Impact pumpkin supreme

great carb sources and 30 grams of protein.
i eat 1 before every workout.

metrex big 100s

my fiance and brother in law just started eating lenny and larry protein bars..

she says "best bars ever"
