what I'm working with returning from injury

Started back to the gym after a year off because of pain from getting stabbed in the forearm by a student. I realize it's not getting any better, came to terms with it, and decided to salvage what I could and move on. Here's a back shot I took today, after returning to the gym for the 2nd week.
    I'm 52, 6', 230bw with a 35 waist.

Nice job! Keep at it. Look great for being out of the gym for that long.

You got stabbed? Why did that student stab you? Is he in jail?

Inner city psycho. He tried to elbow me in the face.
When I blocked it I ended up with a pen stuck in my forearm.
He then picked up a desk/chair and tried to smash me in the head with it. I stopped it short after he swung it over his head. Part of the desk drove the pen into one of my forearm bones, severing an artery and nerve at the same time. I took him down and held him until the cops handcuffed him.
He pled guilty to felony assault. He's lucky I didn't unleash.
I knew better than to throw my career away for vengeance.
He did 2 years juvee disciplinary school, big deal.
I try to rise above it and act like it doesn't bother me, but here it is, 3:26 AM and I have to work at 7. Don't sleep much anymore. Arm and forearm are constantly in pain. Sucks. I can still lift, though, just not as much. It's resting I rarely get.
