ok, so heres the deal. ive been really putting some thought into joining a frat, namely TKE. it looks like it would be fun, and a great way to meet alot more people out here. and when i got off of work 1am saturday morning i started talking with some people outside, and we all ended up going to a friends room and playing some beer pong. no big deal. well the kid whose room it was is the secratary for the local TKE chapter so i talked to him about it, and i really think this could be a good thing.

mainly what i want is to hear you guys opinions on this cause i know that you's are older and may have some experience or input, or at least some advice to give me. so what do you guys think about it?

well if you like buying your friends go for it :)

Frats are just for partying

Anti do you have interest like woodworking or ceramics? Those are things you could do with your time and learn a skill.

im good at woodworking, i just dont really enjoy it. i built a beautiful cabinet for my parents, and its at their house, maybe ill post it up once i get home. and i dont like ceramics.

drinking isnt a big deal to me anymore, when im around alcohol i might drink a little, but its not a temptation anymore. just think it would be cool to be part of a brotherhood type thing.

well if you want to do it then do it. I mean that's all apart of growing up and making decisions

I just know that around here frat boys are just that "frat Boys" in other words they if you belong to a frat ur a tool.

Also doesn't it cost to be in the frat??

I always thought it was funny the guys on the football team all wearing their little jackets with patches. Now you want to talk about someone who look's fucking gay.
yea those guys should try out for the next movie Brokeback 2

I don't know man, if I were you, I concentrate on your school work and banging hot chicks :)

I think that's a very good suggestion. The only important thing that about colege is to learn as much as possible. Don't get get caught up in groups that will eventually lead you to drugs and alcohol.

doubting that i have the ability to balance school work and the social life that comes with a frat?

It's not about balancing it's about what being in a cult like a fraternity might lead too. Just trying to get you to see the possible danger of it.

i realize the possible danger, but i also feel that college is suppsed to be the tiem of a persons life, and this is the point in my life where i enjoy myself as much as possible. i never really got to enjoy my childhood becuase i had a disabled mother and a little brother to take care of. so i feel now is my time to enjoy life. is that the wrong thinking?

Personally I don't like frats... It really is like paying people to be your friends while you are in school.
I had a few neighbors in college that were in frats - and they went from being pretty cool to being your typical stereotypical douchebags.

If it sounds like something you would enjoy - then go for it...
