back to squats

Back injuries, leg injuries, getting old,
but did 10x10 squat with only 135 today and am feeling it like the old days. It's great to get such DOMS with so light-a-weight. Old muscle, man, old muscle.
 
Squats are awesome... I would be very sad if I could no longer do them! Oh, and mrhtbd: 10x10 at 135 is not so bad. Miles apart from the guy who doesn't do any!
 
Yeah, I avoided them for years cause the doc said I had too, lying bastard. In love again, going for 500 soon. Got 455 x 3 easy but my back was rather upset with me. I've finally learned to listen and stop when it tells me to.
 
I couldnt do free bar squats for a long time now, went to hack on the machines until my knees screamed I am a mess, lmao
 
I have slowly got back to light squats after some back injuries. It is extremely frustrating that I can bench double of what I squat.
 
The older I get, the cockier I become.

After having my 4th knee repair in 2004, my surgeon advised me that I will have to have my knees replaced. If I continued with heavy weight lifting and gaining weight, I would be seeing him in 10 years. Lose weight and train light, 20+ years. 8 years later, I'm 125 pounds lighter and the member of a powerlifting team. Although I don't squat for competition, I started squatting (hack squats only) at the gym. Prior to my surgeries, my max was 400. By 2006, I was up to 450. Now, I'm at 530. The only pains that I feel for days are my quads and hamstrings.
 
at least your squatting---keep in mind a lot of guys dont work legs period!
 
love me a good 10x10 on squats here n there.got this one young cat in my gym,tries to do them but always like quarter squats with a weight he can't even unrack without someone behind him.saw me doing a 10x10 with just 205 one night.60sec rests.said that shit's too light.seen you do more.offered him to give it a go.by his 3rd set he was about to give in.his 6th set he was done.walked funny for a week.laughed at him and said 'told ys so dumb ass!" ain't always bout tryin to move mountains,just change it up a bit.now he's all into the whole GVT thing but wants to do it ALL the time now...everything in moderation my man,lol...youngins never learn do they?
 
I am short and stalky , I enjoy the squats,currently after woking my way up I finish at 505 x5 right now and then taper back down from there.
I had knee surgery a couple years back to repair my right knee in which I blew out while doing squats but after recovery my knee is better now than it ever has been .....
I always look forward to Squat day as well as deadlift day both of which have there own day.

OK bro, Golden rule - you can NOT refer to hacks as squatting. Even though you pointed it out as hacks only, still can't do it. Squats are squats, not smith machine squats, not hack squats, not front squats, not sissy squats, etc, but SQUATS. You as a powerlifter should know this! :eek: :wackit:
