im actually tired of being an attorney....I always wanted to teach elementary...... I can pull out my retirement get a part time job and get my teaching credentials.......may be a suffer for a few years but may be much happier..........tired of dealing with court....assholes....and everything

I thing I would be much happier being a kid at heart

I would lose a lot of money...but so what...am I crazy?????

Bro, i did just that.. left a 150k/year job and became a teacher and never looked back. I have a great love for teaching and education. I dont think i could handle elementary though, i teach and coach high school.

Funny, I originally wanted to be a lawyer, but after finishing my Philosophy degree realized I couldn't take listening to excuses all day and be manipulated by greedy fucks.

I'm glad I'm a teacher. There are struggles but I laugh most days and always learn something new.

Now go rent "Kindergarten Cop" and get busy!

While I think it is extremely important to be happy with your career it is easy to say money doesn't bring happiness but you have come accustom to the lifestlye in which you live... I am sure you understand what I am getting at; don't sacrifice one thing for another. I would look at the big picture if your career is causing you to be unhappy in other areas of your life then maybe change is for the better. Granted I am only 26 and you probably have more wisdom then I but it would be hard for me to make such a change. I would be so uncertain if I could really resort back to a different lifestyle but I guess you don't know till your try. Best of luck to you in which ever road you take do let us know.

Im being forced to make a career change, so money would make me happy....The more the merrier....

I think you should follow your heart. Maybe save as much as you can before you make your decision. True Happiness come from with in. You need to find balance in your life that bring you true inner peace. Its a big decision and should be thought out carefully.

I know alot of lawyers and it seems like alot of them are in the same position as you. The market is flooded with lawyers and yea you can make money but when u equate the amount of hours to pay it does not equal out. Having had a law degree i would think real estate would be a good jump for you. Maybe get into the foreclosure market that is booming right now.

I can understand wanting a career change. I've been in the paper industry for 20 years now. I am sick of it!!! Teaching though?!?! Why not try to find a way to enteract without going the distance first to see if that's what you really want. Maybe do a little bit of both to see if that's your four-ta. Why not represent teacher's in a few arburtration cases. See what goes on in a teacher union meeting or something (if that exsist). Good luck with that bro :-)

representing teachers or teachers unions aint gonna give me shit...

you have no clue how tired I am dealing with what I have......I have a good friend that was a teacher for 25 yrs...mostly high school....I checked into it....I have talked to peeps....I dont want to be a defense lawyer anymore....Im not specialized in real estate or anything else....just criminal defense....just a thought....I thought I would be happier doing that....
