Can I eat some food .. meat, chicken, eggs, tuna .. whatever,

rather that drinking a whey protein shake?

Is there a significant difference in the source of protein and how it effects you post workout?

yeah you can definately eat food instead. The main advantages of protein POWDER though is its more easily and quickly digestable, you know how much youre getting in, and its just easier and faster than eating a meal. Thats the main pupose of most people using it after a workout when your body is in the state to soak up whatever food you put down. I think because of the pwo insulin sensitivity or whatever..dont quote me on that. I cant remember if chicken or tuna was usually preferred iin later meals. But in the end, protein is protein. Dont worry too much about it as long as youre using common sense :ance:

The best thing to do is eat food
People use protein, because like iron said, its just real easy to make

But the best possible thing to do is eat your protein in food form

Word....slam a shake right after working out then eat a solid meal about an hour later.

Sweet, good to know.

More opinions if possible are welcome.

Here is what I use to do, now I am lazy and drink PWO drinks that contain protein and dextrose. This is all we had back in the day and it works..:D
egg whites, fast digesting protein to feed your fatigued muscles
White rice, fast burning carb to replenish your glycogen levels
