Its late and I'm bored so I thought I'd start a thread and get some responses. I am currently in retail and make decent money but I wanna make a change. I was just interested in finding out what people on here do for a living?

Title-
Pay-
Are you happy-
School/Degree required-

And anything you'd like to add.

Offshore medic
$80,000+ depending on the exchange rate
Not happy, looking for something else
Nursing degree or military EMT qualifications + relevant experience in the pre hospital field
Because I work for a drilling company, I do an equal time rota for a relatively lower end salary. Working on production platforms is 2 on 3 off (weeks) and pays more, Norwegian offshore workers do 2 on 4 off and get more still.
I'm in the process of getting a job in Nigeria as medical a trainer, should pay around $125,000 but it's still a long way off.

I pimp for Black7 and Nigbo . :stickpoke (jking)
I addition, I'm a building contractor .

self employed
varying pay , haven't cleared 6 figures yet tho. :(
happy yes, satisfied never.
two highschools , three colleges , one degree (highschool) lol.

to add: If I had done what I am doing now back then ... or If I only knew ... is the worst fucking mentality in the world - I've fucked up 15 years of my brain neurology and my life , ruined family , fucked over women who loved me. And apologized sincerely to all - some won't forgive me and I don't blame them. All I can say is I blinked and that happened, if I blink again and I'm not doing what I desire within 5 years I'm going to be incredibly fed up with the joke that I would've manged to become. Today is only day that matters to me.

I sell blood, not mine but of others.

Damn, lifts, I knew the vampire thing was big but never realized such a market. Do you recommend Deacon's vampire book?
At least I think it was Deacon who wrote the vampire book, wasn't it?

HS Teacher
70+
Two Masters Degree's plus 30 credits and 5 subject certifications
Spent over 300,000 on my education
Working towards a principal certification
Happy to teach, especially with the kids who want to learn, but irritated at the vast baby sitting service I provide.
Kids are different today. Teach in the city where most don't value knowledge, they just want money without having to work for it.

I own a landscaping company, and have ownership in a production company.

Landscaping does about 50k. I don't want to do it much longer.

Production i will not start making money from for atleast another year, but it will be much more than i am used to. I have been very fortunate these past couple years, and have been given an opportunity most people would probably never encounter in a lifetime, but it was all just time and chance, so i am very thankful for that. But this is what my goal is now. The landscaping is to just hold me over for another year or so.

I have a high school diploma

Asset Manager
Satisfied with salary relative to working hours
Happy with my occupation but not sure I want to be where I am forever, kinda just taking what I can until we pull through the recession.
I have a BSc Hons degree and a professional qualification that enables me to practice solo if I wish

Title - Retired. :D

Pay - More than 10k and less than 10 million :p

Are you happy - Such a RELATIVE question! When I can walk, talk, see, hear, smell, feel, imagine (having good health), how can I say I am NOT happy when it could be SO much worse? On the other hand, if I compare myself to the lucky homie that just won the Lotto, then no, I'm not happy.lol :p But yes in general I am indeed happy...ya got your health, ya got it all. One day you youngbucks will realize that (and if you do, you will realize it even MORE as you grow older.) ;)

Thanks DP but it hasnt been easy. I've went through BK lost everything. I'm just not a quiter and i hate negitive people. So i stay away from them and take alot of chances. Anyone can do what ive done. It just takes balls and willing to go head strong into it.

Well, it looks like the Nigeria thing might be a goer....I'm here now!
Not training courses for me to do as their organisation isn't the best but I'll have my work cut out for me setting up all the course. I've also to train the Nigerian "Medical staff", sort out the clinic and ambulance and get a truck load of equipment ordered, should be fun! One of the managers is coming down in 2 days so I'll get on her case about hiring me full time, I'm only here for 2 weeks at present then back to the day job. I'll have to lay it on thick for her as they're paying me a week what i earn a month at my regular job....and it's hot!

Good to hear bro. Be careful there. I'm sure you did your homework and are aware of the crime and shit. Here's a quick take:

Violent crime committed by individual criminals and gangs, as well as by some persons wearing police and military uniforms, is a problem throughout the country, especially at night. Visitors and resident U.S. citizens have experienced armed muggings, assaults, burglary, carjacking, rape, kidnappings and extortion, often involving violence. Home invasions remain a serious threat, with armed robbers accessing even guarded compounds by scaling perimeter walls; following, or tailgating, residents or visitors arriving by car into the compound; subduing guards and gaining entry into homes or apartments. Armed robbers in Lagos also access waterfront compounds by boat. U.S. citizens, as well as Nigerians and other expatriates, have been victims of armed robbery at banks and grocery stores, and on airport roads during both daylight and evening hours. Law enforcement authorities usually respond slowly or not at all, and provide little or no investigative support to victims. U.S. citizens, Nigerians and other expatriates have experienced harassment and shakedowns at checkpoints and during encounters with Nigerian law enforcement officials. Traveling outside of major cities after dark is not recommended due to both crime and road safety concerns.

bump that - I fully believe when you decide you are done, you are. Before that you always can make it.

I deliver furniture. I have for 16 years, and work for a specialty store. However I'm now about to start nursing school. I love my job itself, though some of the people I have to deal with suck at times, I love the work and freedom I have. I'm outside all the time and always meeting new people. It pays the bills and I'm comfortable there, for now.

Im in retail sales
Im 31 years old
50k year
Been there 10 years
high school training, but all experience/learning was hands on the job.
Pretty happy now with benefits & pay.

BSD was an exotic dancer MANY years before Oly even joined here fellas. But when Tyrone ratted him out to his wife for some crack money, he had to lay low for awhile. :p
