In my mind , I am a self taught Gynocologist and a colledge Sex Education teacher in my spare time ,

Sparky here, self employed.

Construction maintenance
I fix contractors screw ups or find solutions when they come up with big change orders.
But recently I was put in charge of a 35mil project. So now maybe construction manager?
Don't make enough for the work I do. Hate dealing with lazy young dudes that don't have a work ethic or are just plain old stupid.
Don't particularly like my job but it pays the bills and has provided a lot of toys for me over the years.

For the past 20+ years I've worked doing Walmart and large Super Market Refrigeration/ Hence the name Freezerdude for the last 3 1/2 I been out of work due to a fall on the job tearing my knee all to hell! And after 3 surgerys in the last 2 years it's not much better than before and now from the limping the other knee/hip/back is messed up.. So I'm hoping this year they will repair it once and for all..

Sales Manager for a a large Fortune 50 multi-industrial corp. My team sells large renovation projects to the public sector based on energy related financial return. The numbers vary year to year based on what we produce. Haven't been below 6 figs in years but as high as 220k. This year somewhere in betw. The best days of my life are when we get ink on the big deal, and the worst days are when I cant keep a commitment on the big deal that was supposed to happen. So its a rush back and forth between heavenly elation and suicidal depression. Sometimes in the same day.

All this was an accident because I had planned to stack lumber at the mill for 40 years and die from liver failure.

Its late and I'm bored so I thought I'd start a thread and get some responses. I am currently in retail and make decent money but I wanna make a change. I was just interested in finding out what people on here do for a living?

Forgot income, I was making between 100k & 125k a year until I got now I get $700.00 a week to sit on the couch for the past well almost 4 year the make the state will allow for workmans comp pay.. So needless to say that's a big drop in income to not have the bills lowered any..Hoping 2012 will be a better year and they can get me fixed so I can return to work..

is a forging plant like a foundery?

BSD was an exotic dancer MANY years before Oly even joined here fellas. But when Tyrone ratted him out to his wife for some crack money, he had to lay low for awhile. :p

I saw this old post and thought about the good old days at I.T. with my man Tyrone.
Now my life is simple, I work for a major oil company and between my wife and I we pull down over 200k a yr, I will admit she makes $130k of that, still my money fool..LOL

By the looks of this thread I'm in the wrong f'n business. I dont make shit compared to you guys.

No the steel is already made into rod (certain diameter) from a foundry then sent to a forging house where we prep saw cut to length prep w/ a heat treat then coat the part. Then if its a cold forge we hit it cold & warm forge we will heat the billet up to hit it.

Senior Project Manager for a very large corporation. Mainly oversee construction and engineering. Been in the business for almost 19 years.
Around the 6 figures.
BSEE with a few classes after graduating.
Get pissed when the salesman blows the bid.
Get a free lunch when they are in heavenly elation mode.
Provide shoulder for crying when in suicidal depression mode.

When I sit back and think about it, I'm a big boy babysitter. :)

Now if I had a nickel for every time I rubbed it.... :ance2:

Yea let me know when you want to move to my state and eat free lunch every day :)

I watch Glycomann juggle and then eat whatever sandwiches he drops to the ground for meals. I dropped out of school in the 4th grade:(

I listen to teens bitching and swearing all day, and today I even had a ring-side seat for a great cat-fight. Funny and tragic thing is, it ain't over, (never is) so I'm going back tomorrow and I'll probably see them try to settle the score. Hell, we had 7 fights in one hour today, and that was during English class. Math ought-a be a rally!

All I'm gonna say is that I work shifts and that I do a lot of overtime (mostly week-ends). Working 6 to 7 days a week sucks when you have a family but I'm single and the money that I make pays for my travels :iggthumpu

Extrusion Technician, 4 days on 4 days off, 55k

few jobs on the side that contribute

I was a foreman for a scaffold company and in charge of the warehouse before getting hurt. (85k). Been on workers comp for the last 2 years. Decided to use the down time to get a degree since labor is out the window for me. Working towards a BS in Global Logistics Management from ECU. WC isn't taxable income so I get a little over 6k a year for school from financial aid. Lucky for me and my wife our bills aren't that bad so with the pay cut we manage, would be doing much better if I could get rid of her credit cards and stop buying so much shit.

Forgot to tell that I used to work as a trilingual executive secretary but working in an office was kinda boring. I worked as a medical assistant at an university hospital for a while and also for an acupuncturist before joining my current job place :o
