I have just had too many irritating experiences with them!!

I ordered a new receiver for my home theater earlier this week... and it was (still is) being shipped by Fed Ex - and in the confirmation of shipment email they said there would be a signature requirement to get the package... Not good, since I work strange hours and am never home when the delivery guy comes. I emailed the company and asked if they could change the ship to address or remove the signature requirement - and they went ahead and contacted Fed Ex to remove the signature requirement. Got home last night to find a package from UPS had arrived and was sitting on my porch, but a note from Fed Ex stuck to the window said they tried, but could not deliver the package because I was not home to sign for it. :axe:
I called up the distribution center to have the package held so I could pick it up this morning, since I wouldn't be home when they tried to deliver it again today - and I emailed the shipper to let them know that the signature requirement had NOT been removed...
Well... I checked online this morning before driving to the distribution center - and the damn package is "out for delivery" again!!! :destroy:
This sucks... I can't get to their distribution center at all tomorrow because I basically work the exact hours they are open... so I won't be able to get it until Saturday sometime!
Stupid Fed Ex!! At least with UPS you can call them and have it shipped to a different address after they attempt delivery the first time... and the shipper sucks because they didn't mention the signature requirement until AFTER it shipped - or I would have just shipped it to work!! :triggerha

I've only had one delivery ever come by dhl - and it went smoothly - a little slow, but smoothly... can't complain there. Nothing but bad experiences with Fed Ex though...

i had a HUGE prob with fed-ex & ive never gone back 2 them since....long story short, i had a b-day card:) sent 2 some1 & they wouldnt deliver it, i then verbally re waived the sig just like i was asked....still nothin....i told them 2 send it back

i go pick it up & it was opend....$ was there, but the sealed box along with the magazine that the sealed card was in, was ripped open

huh i'm the opposite. I love fed ex and I think ups takes to long. I prefer usps, but I don't like how you can't track it like you can ups

ive used usps a ton!

& ive tracked every single thing...there has been delays hours etc....but nothin 2 crazy....but it could b that i have used them when i wasnt in a big city etc

no usps only does updates like every night where as ups does it whenever it is scanned

LOL @ Shawn!!

Okay... so it got even more frustrating today... After the company that did the shipping said they double checked and made sure the signature was waived - I got a call from Fed Ex that they were holding the package at their center since they couldn't deliver it today!!! I asked the lady on the phone if I could have a friend get it for me - she said sure, as long as she has the door tag and proper ID... I clarified with her that all the person needed was ID and the tag - she said "yes".
I sent a friend over to the distribution center (like 7 miles from my house, and 5 miles from my friends house) - and THEY WOULDN'T LET HER HAVE IT!!! AHHHH!!! They said she had to live at the same address!! She explained to them that they never should have attempted delivering it today anyway, and that the company shipping it said it was OK to leave it with no signature AND I had been told that she could pick it up for me - and they said "yeah... too bad, he can get it tomorrow"!!
I'm never using Fed Ex again if I can help it!! I even emailed the company that sent the package that they should really warn people that they use Fed Ex so people would know to rethink ordering from them.

if you think they suck try working for them. it's worse. probably part of you problem is that fedex ground and home delivery's work is done by independent contractors. fedex doesn't always do the best job of giving us information when they should. from my experience where i work fedex does the least amount of work possible.

my opinions....

dhl is full of idiot
ups is slow but reliable
fed-ex is decent
usps priority is fast and reliable
