I am looking for a structure that is 2 inches thick, 5 to 6 feet long, and 1.5 feet wide. it can be a plank of wood, rubber whatever.. the cheapest possible structure that is this size.

Need it for some gym equipment adjustment.

What would be the best way to go about looking for this? attach two wood planks togather?

2) 2x8's joined together with either a spline (cut with router or Dado blade on a table saw) or you can use a kreg pocket hole kit. (Works great)

Good idea.

I will go buy some this weekend.

Ozzy it's for a gym equipment called hip thruster. It's a glute exercise but I need some planks on the side to place the barbell on to get underneath it without scraping my legs knee etc.

Got the drill today. MY first major "tool" purchase. feel so manly. my testosterone went up by 500 points i think. Lot of wood will be nailed this weekend (that doesnt sound right!), once I teach my self through youtube videos. HA!

hope everyone is having a good weekend.

excuse my lack of knowledge.

I got the 2x 6 ss . also bought a drill bit set from walmart. The drill bit barely goes through the wood. upon further research, unknown to me there are many different types of drill bit.

I bought this one https://www.walmart.com/ip/Bostitch-10-Piece-Black-Oxide-Drill-Bit-Set-BSA1S14BM/26913710

but it is terrible. doesnt really make the hole i need it to make.

which drill bit would you recommend? would an Auer or spade drill bit do the job?

These are the screws i was trying to use

i did put some structure togather using hammer and tapping thin screws in but the structure isnt really too stable
