My friend owns land out in West Virginia, and this property is adjacent to his. Basically what they do is have vacation property out in the country for vets, and the families of those killed in the war that they can use free of charge. I went into the rental cabin (it is very nice) and talking to the guy who built it for vetlands really made me believe in what they are doing. It is all a non profit charity.

Vetlands is a veterans' organization, founded by civilians, who never served in the Military, to express sincere thanks to the men and women of the United States Armed Forces who have sacrificed so that all citizens of the United States can live in peace and pursue happiness and prosperity.
Vetlands seeks donations of land throughout the United States to be held, improved, managed, and disposed for the benefit of war veterans, members of the United States Military, and the families of those who have died in combat. Vetlands, Inc. is tax exempt and donations to Vetlands are tax deductible according to section 501(c)(19) of the Internal Revenue Code.
Veterans, and members of the U.S. Armed Forces, and their families can benefit in several ways:
1.
They can use the properties free of charge for recreational enjoyment.
2.
Memorials to deceased war veterans and soldiers will be placed at properties.
3.
Revenue generated from disposal of properties will be used to assist disabled and needy war veterans and the families of soldiers who died in service.
