According to the Internet based articles, inflammation is a natural process done by the body on an injured area in order to protect it from further injury and heal it. Supposedly without inflammation an injured tissue would never heal. So if this is true, how come it is a good idea to lessen inflammation? Lets say my knee is hurt and it is inflamed and it hurts, I take an ibuprofen, which lessens the pain and inflammation, in return, I can go back to my daily activities without hinderence. Even if I don't go back to exercising, according to the above statement, I am therefore increasing the time it will take to heal the tissue by lowering bodys natural response to damage.

Is it a trade off? Less pain longer heal time, or deal with the pain and heal up faster?

To much inflammation can also hinder healing by impeding blood flow to an injured area. Your body naturally produced cortisol which is a strong anti inflammatory.

I prefer fish oil and curcumin for my anti-inflammation protocol over nsaids.

I also take apple cider vinegar, which I believe is suppose to have some anti-inflammatory properties...
