A few years ago, my wife said, "My husband is living proof that Neanderthal aren't extinct," so I had my DNA checked by the Genographic Project supported by National Geographic.

Just yesterday I got the results of an advanced YDNA test by www.familytreedna.com. OK, it's official, my male ancestors were direct descendants of the Cro-Magnon and were believed to have assimilated (bred) with the Neanderthal rather than (as previously theorized) killed them off, so, my wife was right.

Damn, I hate when that happens!

It's very true the Neanderthal just interbred with Cro-Magnon to from the modern race. They have discovered very old habitats where the two races lived in harmony.
