What did you say?!? American Psycho is thee (definite article) greatest psychological thriller ever made. The novel was so controversial that the author received death threats after its publication.

In Australia, the book is sold shrink-wrapped and is classified "R18" under national censorship legislation. The book may not be sold to those under 18 years of age, or criminal prosecution may result. Along with other Category 1 publications, its sale is theoretically banned in the state of Queensland.

As for the movie, the New York Times called it a "mean and lean horror comedy classic".

Roger Ebert gave the film three out of four stars and praised Christian Bale's performance as being "heroic in the way he allows the character to leap joyfully into despicability; there is no instinct for self-preservation here, and that is one mark of a good actor"

Stay away form the book if you can't stomach sick shit, but the movie's a must see.

And stay away from the sequel, retarded.

Yes you do, one of the best movies EVER. I have heard the book is really good, it is one of the next on my list to read after I finish the ones in my queue. Although I heard the book is REALLLLLLLLY fucked up, and not for the squeamish.

Some like the novel, some hate it. The author attempts to make the reader understand the true extent of Bateman's obsession through graphic detail. Bateman will describe what a character is wearing; the cut of the suit, the fabric, coat, shoes, socks, glasses, hair products, the breast pocket wedge, down to the finest detail. Whole chapters devoted to the LP's he likes. It got a little monotonous.

There is a section in the novel where Bateman kills a child, I think the author could have omitted this, but again, he wants the reader to really understand the lunacy that makes up Patrick Bateman.

Not too bad, I am thinking about getting a Taurus Judge for my next piece, it shoots 45 caliber round or .410 shotgun shells :) at close range that would decimate a person :D
