Brutal - as someone who is recovering from a torn quad tendon right now, I'm wondering what steps I can take to minimize the risk of such injuries in the future? Short, that is, of not training, or of going very light and not trying to get huge size.
I think your last sentence nailed it. You don't need crazy heavy weights for big quads anyways. I've seen some of the freakiest quads around on guys who went no higher than 315 with squats, but repped them out for 20+ reps.
