Man I am laughing my ass off. These guys take 24 diets and rank them every year. For some mysterious reason "experts" whose identity and educational level are unknown, claim that all the pre packaged, monthly installment commitment diets (south beach, jenny craig, nutrasystem etc.. etc..) who is like your 2 year cell phone contract, are the best of best diets. They are simple to follow, very effective, very health and more important they are right. On the other hand "stupid" diets which are more habits and lifestyle changes than guzzling cash in to a company such as being low carb,vegan/vegetarian or paleo are useless, hard to follow, do not bring any benefit and not realistic in today's civilization. All 3 of these diets were ranked between 20 and 24 while pay as you go ones were top 5 lol.
Here is the article if you want to read it yourself

Some of these diets would be counter productive for a strength training athlete.

Actually every person who has gain some benefits from any of these diets will favor the one that gave him or her some good benefits. So its possible that some people have gain good fitness results from low ranked diets. So it depends upon that whether people found it effective or not.
